Announcing the STEER study results at the European Society of Cardiology (ESC) Congress 2025 in Spain, the weight-loss giant presented that, compared with Tirzepatide, Wegovy showed a 57 per cent greater risk reduction for heart attack, cardiovascular-related death in obese patients without diabetes. Under the observational real-world study, the drugmaker recorded that, among patients treated with Wegovy around 15 (0.1 per cent of the total pool) events of heart attack, stroke and cardiovascular-related deaths were reported whereas in Tirzepatide 39 events were recorded (0.4 per cent of the total pool)
