Compounded drugs are not directly approved by the FDA in the same way as commercial drugs
The list includes: Addisons disease Amyloidosis Ankylosing spondylitis Coeliac disease Crohns disease Dermatomysositis Graves disease Guillain-Barre syndrome Hashimotos thyroiditis Multiple sclerosis (MS-like presentation/SACD (subacute combined degeneration)) Myasthenia gravis Pernicious anaemia/B12 deficiency Reactive arthritis Restless leg syndrome (RLS) Rheumatoid arthritis Sjogrens syndrome Systemic lupus erythematosus Type 1 diabetes Ulcerative colitis Many of the above conditions have overlapping symptoms, for example fatigue, general ill-feeling, joint pain and rash
Possible side effects include injection site pain or redness, mild diarrhea, nausea, itching, headache, or dizziness
Subsequent work by Heffernan and coworkers (2001) confirmed the peptides effects in obese mouse models, with chronic administration associated with reduced body weight gain and decreased adiposity without concurrent changes in food intake
