Northumbria, 2017: Cricket match, Bamburgh [sport, food production, social welfare, charity, geology] Landscape wood and silk to connectThis print is in three layers on Somerset Satin White paper, and is one of a set of prints depicting 21st century Northumbria, inspired by hand coloured photographs in the 1898 book Japan. Overlooked by the 18th century mill, the cricket pitch, is at the foot of Bamburgh Castle. The mill was built by Doctor John Sharp, one of the Lord Crewes Trustees, to provide cheaper flour for local poor people. He created a mini welfare state for the area, based
