Death Valley Sailing Stone Night Print Colorado Front Range The beautiful coastal area isThe sailing stones of Death Valley National Park get their trails when freezing temperatures follow rain storms. The playa freezes and heavy winds move the rocks across the ice. I visited the park during summertime and, after spending all day in triple digit temperatures, I was very grateful to photograph the stones at night time when it was a bit cooler.
