Right Angel From Raphael - The Sistine Madonna (c 1513-4) AAAW24 it could be a greatThis drawing is based on an enormously famous painting by the great Raphael from the sixteenth century that was caused people to enter a stage of religious ecstasy when they first were exposed to it. This angel, along with his colleague sit at the bottom of the canvas looking up at the Madonna and Child. Apparently they were based on models from the studio who were transfixed with Raphael's work. This piece is part of my upcoming exhibition The Faces
