Charming Sevres style inkwell, square shaped with hinged knob lid that opens to reveal a porcelain insert liner. The inkwell features a rare 'fond violet' colored ground, a rich aubergine purple glaze. Richly decorated with ornate gilt bronze Empire style mounts with motifs comprising of classic ribbon bows and floral garland swags. Oval medallions adorn each side of the inkwell with
