The original map was possibly drawn in 1652 as that date appears in the "red circle" near top left. On the left hand side are characters from Germany, France, Italy and Denmark. On the right they are from Belgium, Spain, England and Poland. Could be royalty(?) as most European nations had kings or queens at that time, but I am guessing!
