Interestingly, a number of analyses of recall suggest that many phenomena ranging from intensity of pain (Stone, Broderick, Shiffman, & Schwartz, 2004) and craving (Shiffman et al., 2006), to frequency of urination (Homma et al., 2002) and headaches (Van Den Brink, Bandell-Hoekstra, & Abu-Sadd, 2001 ) are exaggerated in recall, due to memory biases that make the experience being studied more salient and result in its exaggeration
